Wireless Security Protocol
Settings Path
After login, find the Wireless Settings tab. For Fiber ONTs, this is usually under ‘WLAN’ or ‘Advanced Configuration’.
Encryption
Ensure your Authentication Type is WPA2-PSK [AES]. This mode prevents bottlenecking and ensures the maximum bandwidth of your fiber line is usable.
Apply Reset
Enter your new key. Click Save & Reboot. All devices will be kicked off the network and must reconnect with the new credentials.
Security Hardening
In the Pakistan region, unauthorized access often occurs through WPS vulnerabilities. Lock your hardware down with these steps.
01. Disable WPS Immediately
Inside your router settings, go to Wireless Advanced > WPS. Toggle it to ‘Off’. This prevents attackers from bypassing your password using brute-force PIN methods.
02. Admin Login Security
Navigate to System Management. Change the router password from ‘admin’ to something complex. This ensures only you can modify the hardware settings.
