Why Channel
Optimization?

Most routers are set to ‘Auto’ by default. In high-density Pakistan neighborhoods (like apartments in Karachi or Lahore), your router might pick a channel that is already crowded by neighbors, leading to high ping and packet loss.

The Golden Rule: On 2.4GHz, only use channels 1, 6, or 11. These are the only channels that do not overlap with each other.

SNR

Noise Floor: A cleaner channel improves your Signal-to-Noise Ratio, allowing your devices to maintain higher speeds at a distance.

Concrete Barriers

Pakistan’s brick and concrete walls are “WiFi Killers.” Even on a clean channel, 5GHz signals struggle to pass through more than one wall. Use 2.4GHz for distance.

Electronic Noise

Microwaves and Bluetooth devices operate on 2.4GHz. Testing while these are active will result in high Jitter on your radar scan.

UPS Interference

Low-quality UPS inverters can generate electrical EMI that degrades router hardware performance. Test speed while on direct line power for true accuracy.

DFS Channels

On 5GHz, avoid DFS channels (52-144) if you live near an airport or weather station, as the router will frequently drop the connection to scan for radar.

The Implementation Blueprint

Access Gateway

Type 192.168.1.1 in your browser. Use the admin password printed on your router’s base sticker.

Manual Override

Navigate to Wireless Settings. Change Channel Selection from ‘Auto’ to your suggested Radar ID.

Power Cycle

Apply and Reboot. Your devices will now broadcast on the highest possible SNR available in your local spectrum.
